AMD Radeon HD 7770 pictures surface

Aforum member at Rage3D has been considerate enough to snap a couple of pictures of AMD's next-generation mainstream graphics card. The new card is based on the Cape Verde core, which is the direct replacement to Juniper. The last generation HD 6770 was still based on the old HD 5770 core, so this is the first true next-gen mainstream card from the red team.

The design of the heatsink is similar to the HD 7970, which we saw up close a few days back. To keep costs down, the HD 7770 will not be getting the vapour chamber heatsink, but instead it will be using a standard aluminium heatsink with a centrally positioned fan. The length of the card would be similar to a GTX 460 or an HD 5770. The card will also have DVI, HDMI and a miniDisplayPort.

To power the card, one just needs a single 6-pin connector, which puts the power draw somewhere at 100W. CrossFire is also supported, but for just a two-card configuration. The four memory chips on the exposed PCB indicate a possible 128-bit memory interface and possibly GDDR5 memory. AMD seemed to have got their line-up all taped out, it’s only a matter of officially announcing it.

AMD officially launches HD 7970 - First 28nm GPU in the world!

It is here! Just like they promised, AMD has made the HD 7970 official, which makes it the first ever 28nm-based graphics card in the world. The card, based on the ‘Tahiti’ core will benefit from the all new GCN (Graphics Core Next), which should ideally improve the performance significantly over the previous architecture. As far as we know, this is their flagship card and will be available for purchase as of January 9, 2012 for a recommended price of $549 (approx Rs.30,000).
Gentlemen, empty your wallets!
Gentlemen, empty your wallets!

The specifications are similar to what we reported a couple of days back. The card features 2,048 Stream processors and 128 Texture units. The core is clocked at a pretty high 925MHz, and the 3GB GDDR5 memory sits at 5,500MHz (effective speed). The card will also run on the new PCIE 3.0 interface, which is found on the new Intel X79-based motherboards. Feature wise, it only supports DX11, not DX11.1 like we though it would and Shader Model 5.0. The new architecture also supports up to 4K video resolutions through the HDMI 1.4a port and DisplayPort 1.2 HBR2.

AMD is quite brave with one of their marketing slogans, which reads, “Engineered to humiliate the competition”. Given that we are yet to see what the competition will bring (Nvidia’s Kepler GPU), we just hope for AMD’s sake, they’ve done enough to come out on top. According to preliminary reports floating around the net, the HD 7970 appears to be quite faster than the GTX 580, which makes it the fastest single GPU card. We’ll bring forth the play by play, as soon as we get a sample in our hands. Stay tuned.

ASUS basically stating the Transformer 2 on 9th November

We recently revealed that the Asus Transformer 2 would activity the all new NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor but there was no real hint as to when this standing would be presented. At the All Items D’s AsiaD discussion, ASUS chairman Jonny Shih was questioned by Wally Mossberg of All Items D at Hong Kong, and available a look of the Eee Pad Transformer 2, Apple Ultrabook – the Zenbook UX31.
Speaking about the Transformer 2, Shih said that it functions a 10-inch display and a range of just 8.3mm creating it very trim. This standing also has NVIDIA’s quad-core brand creating it very effective. Apart from that it functions USB as well as small HDMI places. He goes on to condition that Asus will be basically revealing the Transformer 2 on the 9th of We have seen 2011. When requested if it will element Google’s Ice Treatment Meal before the end of the season, Shih said that it would be out probably recently than that.
Regarding the Zenbook UX31, Shih said that it is created to competing Apple’s MacBook Air with its very lean variety element. This laptop functions Intel’s second technology Center i7 brand, a next technology strong condition generate and USB3.0 places. This pill is in at just 1.2kgs. Shih finished the meeting by revealing that "boundaries between mobile phones, netbooks and laptops are clouding.”

Review of MSI N450GTS Cyclone 1GD5

Price of the graphics card fell, and we see prices normalize. A map entry-level graphics is capable of running most games today is within the reach of many. The last comparison test we stopped for graphics cards of entry found that some of the more expensive cards of Rs 8000 range offer exceptional performance. Move down to the price range and there are some interesting cards that are worth watching. MSI N450GTS Cyclone is such a card, and it's not just the name that attracts our attention.

Feature
The MSI N450GTS is powered by the NVIDIA GeForce GTS450. It is based on the 40nm manufacturing process as the rest of the GeForce 400 series. The GeForce GTS450 GPU runs at 783MHz, but MSI OC edition card runs at 850 MHz, a small increase, but is expected to help challenge cards and a caliber greater than those based on the new GPU. There is a gigabyte of onboard GDDR5 memory the card into a memory interface 128-bit.
There are three video line outputs - two DVI and one mini-HDMI. The package includes a 6-pin Molex converter, converter and a DVI-D-Sub and a separate mini-HDMI to HDMI. There are also SLI support up to two cards. Terms of power requirements, a 6-pin power connector is required. NVIDIA requires 106W of power load, which is not much. 450W power supply should be sufficient for the average PC with the GeForce GTS450. MSI has used Samsung GDDR5 memory chips on the card. Do not cool the heat sink.

Design and Build Quality
Although this is a budget graphics card is quite large and all thanks to your refrigerator. The card occupies two slots and is unlikely to be able to use a second card in the adjacent slot.
The refrigerator is compact and has two heatpipes through two sets of heatfins. The main radiator block itself is quite thin, but has fins on them, that everyone should add to provide good heat dissipation. The fan on the card is relatively small in comparison.

Performance
While N450GTS MSI GeForce GTS450 is another Cyclone is overclocked and gives you an advantage over the rest of the GTS450. The Asus GTS450 is slightly faster overall, but the most expensive cards in the GeForce GTS test.
The N450GTS beats all its competitors in this price range easily. Generally, it is a good 20 to 30 percent faster than other cards in its range. Of course, it is not as impressive as the cards at a price of Rs 1500 during the XFX Radeon HD6790. The closest competitor is the ZOTAC GeForce GTS450. The other GTS450 card does not match his pace. Playing frame stirring at 60 fps in games running at 1680 x 1050-resolution with high detail, which is pretty impressive. Low resolution and you can cross the 70 and 80 fps mark.
In terms of temperature, too, everything seemed stable. At idle, managed 32 degrees Celsius, which is very good and much under load, was at a temperature of 53 degrees Celsius, lower than most of the cards overclocking. With these temperatures, we believe there is more room for overclocking.

Verdict
GeForce N450GTS may be an older card, DirectX 11, but complacency and courtesy enough grit to overclock the core, can challenge the cards have a higher price, and built on the latest technology.
MSI N450GTS offers best of both worlds - it gives a very strong performance in its price, even if it is a more powerful card in its price range. Priced at about Rs. 7000 in India, will do well to buy. Only a better value for money products XFX Radeon HD6770 is a.

Leaked Nvidia GeForce Driver Confirms That Kepler 600 Series

Nvidia beta drivers that were released, not long now confirm that their next generation graphic series will be the GeForce 600-series. The ForceWare 285 Beta drivers contained two mobile GeForce 610 and GeForce GT 630 million. GT 630 may well be the GK 107 SKU, we had reported a few days ago. The 610 seems to be a map entry level graphics, which would probably make its way into entry-level laptops. GT-630, on the other hand, sounds like a public card game with a powerful pedigree. We can hope that in most mainstream laptops and we hope it will be compatible Optimus, as well.
These new results confirm our previous estimate of Nvidia found a new strategy. Unlike the past, they will go to the bottom-up approach starting with the graphics card phone. Previously, after most of its online office was operated practice, we see that the mobile telephony segment get their share of updates, which was usually a long process.
With all game titles launching major in this area and AMD together for the press to its range of next generation GPU, Nvidia will have to catch up. I hope not to repeat a Fermi fiasco again.

Nvidia activate sampling 28nm Kepler GPUs, traveling with a bottom-to-top release

In the accomplished brace of years, Nvidia accept consistently launched their flagship cartoon cards aboriginal and again eventually abounding up the mid-range and boilerplate slots. AMD, on the added duke accept consistently followed a altered philosophy, they would absolution one mid-range and high-end agenda aboriginal and again after absolution the boilerplate and flagship cards. While Nvidia’s next-gen Kepler GPU is still months abroad from release, we assuredly accept some codenames and blueprint of the adaptable chips that will accomplish their way to notebooks in 2012. The blooming behemothic is afterward bottom-to-top release, this time and the aboriginal dent to absolution would be the GK107.
Starting small this time around
Starting small this time around

The engineering samples of the GK107 are accessible and will appear in four SKUs - N13P-LP, N13P-GS, N13P-GT and N13E-GE. Furthermore, the chips will affection a 128-bit anamnesis interface and abutment DDR3 and DDR5 anamnesis types. The aboriginal three SKUs with the ‘P’ suffix will a lot of acceptable be the almsman to the GT 500M series. The endure one, with the ‘E’ suffix could angle for enthusiast, in which case it will alter the GTX 560M. This move from Nvidia of starting with the entry-level chips will alone advice them back if our anamnesis serves us correctly; they haven’t absolutely had any abundant account cartoon cards for a while now. This will accord them a adventitious to analysis out the new architectonics and abuse it to get bigger yields.
The assembly samples of GK107 are accepted ancient in January 2012. There’s still no chat on the high-end chips, yet, which makes the delay all the added painful.
